It’s that time of the year

Now that the season is over and your rental fleet is tuned up ready for next year, it's time to give your equipment that long over do cleaning. I know you’ve kept everything fairly clean during the season, but now it time to get in there and really get them cleaned up.

A few pointers before we begin

Make sure you have your summer service scheduled, if not call the service department at 866.590.8977.

Get a large bucket and a few scrub brushes, one that will reach those hard to clean areas as well.

A good cleaner such as our Machine Cleaning Agent (7019-1011-V01).

A few tools to remove the top covers on any manual machines, don’t remove anything you don’t know how to replace!

Some rubber gloves and safety glasses.

Have plenty of time so you can do a thorough job.

1.    Empty out the used coolant, disposing of properly and clean the tank

2.    Fill the tank up with clean water and add some of the Cleaning Agent to the water

3.    Move the tank back to the machine and connect the pump. Run the machine, with the water nozzles open for 20 or 30 minutes,. Keep a careful eye out for foaming of the water.

4.    Turn the water off and let the stone spin dry for a couple of minutes.

5.    Turn the stone off and close the gate valve.

6.     Remove any covers that you feel comfortable with. Don’t remove anything you don’t know how to replace!

7.    Turn the pump on and using the cleaning hose, Machine Cleaning Agent, and a scrub brush get in there and clean what looks dirty.  Wash everything into the water tank and then empty.

8.    Refill the water tank with clean water and connect back to the machine. Run again for 10 or 15 minutes with the stone on and all gate values open.

9.    Spin dry the stone again and turn off the machine.

10.    Dry the machine and replace the covers leaving off the side panels.

11.    Store dry until next season.

When next season rolls around you will have a nice clean machine to start work with, plus with the empty water tank you won’t find any unpleasant surprises floating in the tank.
